Joint standards day on STEP AP242 and JT data exchange, merging two former separate events
About this event
Engineering Interoperability Day brings together two established communities for the first time: the former STEP AP242 Day and JT Day. Organised jointly by prostep ivip and AFNeT, it unites experts, users and decision-makers from engineering, IT and production around standards, data models and end-to-end engineering processes. The 2026 programme covers data exchange and long-term archiving (LOTAR), handling of classified information, material properties including composites, product data traceability, smart manufacturing data, and end-to-end processes across the product lifecycle, with standards-based vendor updates from Siemens, PTC, Dassault Systemes, CT CoreTechnologie and others alongside case studies from MTU Aero Engines, Airbus, Mercedes-Benz and Gulfstream. It is a free, one-day, on-site event, part of a wider theme week that also includes a separate LOTAR & MBx Interoperability Forum and a JT Workflow Forum on adjacent days.

Aimed at engineers and IT/data specialists working with STEP AP242 and JT format interoperability across CAD/PLM systems, particularly in aerospace and automotive. Free, practitioner-facing, and standards-focused rather than a vendor sales event.
